Occasion is the most important factor for the selection of color. Different color are used for different occasion.
We are dividing the color in three types according to occasion.
- Traditional Color
- Formal Color
- Casual color
Following are the different types of colors used for different occasion given as per the general observation and general choices.
Bridal Wear –
In India, Marriage is celebrating with different traditional rituals. So, color shall be according to your culture and tradition. In general,common colors used in bridal clothes are as under.
Shades of Red, Magenta, Ruby, Green, Yellow Peach and white
Marriage / Festival Wear –
Marriageis a function where peoples are enjoying the event in a traditional way and Religious rituals is the event where various rituals are performed in a traditional way. So shades and tint of traditional colors are used in clothes which are as under.
Shades and tints of Pink, Peach, Beet red, Salmon, Raspberry, Golden, Yellow, Lemmon yellow, Orange, Green, Parrot, Brown, Ginger, Sea sand, Blue and white.
Dating and Romance Wear –
These is the time where you have to shown yourself glamorous and gorgeous. So, Clothes of passionate colors can wear. The colors of romantic clothes are as under.
Shades and tints of Pink,Purple, Red, Maroon,Lavender, Copper, Denim, Black and White.
Office wear –
Office is a place where you have to show yourself qualified and skilled. So, the clothes of cool colors can wear. The colors of office wear area as under.
Grey and Navy blue are the best color used for the professional/ office wear. Shades of Peach, Sand Stone, Brown, Mint, Olive, Beet red, Khaki, Sapphire blue, Denim blue are also used in office wear.
Tour & Travels
Color of clothes for the tour wear is depend up on the place you are going to visit.
The cool colors are used for the tour. Shades of Off white, White,Mint, Olive, Aqua blue, Navy Blue, Lemon Yellow, Mustard, Ivory, Peach, Salmon.
Party wear-
Generally party is performed in evening up to late-night. Party is the event of enjoyment. AlsoParty is the event of highlight yourself. So clothes of color for the party are dark colors.
Shades of brown and maroon are the best party wear color. Shades of Denim, Navy blue, Purple, Lavender, Strawberry, Blue berry, Beet red, peach, Salmon, seawater, cinnamon, Cream are also used in party wear.
Sad function –
This is the serious function where you have to represent yourself as serious / sad.
Main color of clothes for the sad function is Black & White. Also Blue, Grey and Brown colors of clothes are used in sad function.
Selection of Colors as per Skin Tone
Color of clothes shall be such that it can contras with skin tone.
There are three type of skin
1) Fair Skin
2) Medium Skin
3) Dark Skin
Fair skin-
Whitish or reddish skin is known as fair skin.
Black, Lavender, Magenta, Peach, Strawberry, Brown, Cinnamon are the most preferable color for fair skin.
Medium Skin –
Natural skin is known as Medium skin
Pink, Masturd, Ginger, caramel, Peach, Orange, sandstone, Lemon yellow are the most preferable color for medium skin.
Dark Skin –
Dark natural skin or black skin is known as dark skin.
Shades of Blue and Green, Olive, Grey, Clay, Sand, Wood are the most preferable color for dark skin.
Color for every one are the olive, maroon and lavender.
Season-
The weather factor also keet in mind while selecting the color of clothes.
Light color or pastel color prefer for summer season
Dark color prefer for winter season.
